Why don't skeletons have noses?

Great question! When you look at a human skeleton, you see an empty hole where the nose should be. That's because most of the nose is made of different stuff than the skull, which is the bone behind the face and covering the brain. At the top of your nose are two little nasal bones that form the bridge of your nose. Touch the area on your nose where glasses sit and you'll feel those bones. But the rest of your nose is made of cartilage. This is a flexible material that's softer than bone. If you press the tip of your nose, you'll feel the cartilage. This stuff doesn't last longer as long as bone after death which is why skeletons don't have nose.
